Remember when that discount store in the Fairfax area literally blew up from an accumulation of organic gas (the entire area is very close to the world-famous LaBrea Tar Pits...) Well, right after a late night news report on the incident, I saw the following sequence: 1) an ad for the other stores in the chain (that hadn't blown up!) 2) an ad for a lamp store explaining how they were "blowing off the roof in an explosion of low prices -- BOOM!") Of course, stories about incidents like movie critics totally panning films, followed immediately by an ad for the film, are very common.... --Lauren--
