I have now written a program which resides as a DECnet object on a VMS system with a tape drive, and acts as a one-way BACKUP server. This offers some improvements in that it is a little more robust, and allows larger block sizes on tape: up to 32Kb. The source is available via anonymous FTP from USC-ECLC in directory PS: as DCNBACKUP.B32 and DCNBACKUP.LIS (which can be assembled). If you do not have FTP access, send me a request and I can mail the files to you. -------
