Does anyone know if you can replace printer page counting using 
PSM$REPLACE?  Now for even more fun, how about posting a READ to
the printer to get the page count it sends back.  Btw, I am trying
to drive a serial printer (Apple LaserWriter) over a serial line.

If anyone's interested, I have gotten as far as suppressing all form-feeds
sent to the printer.  Also I am working on a library of /form/setup
PostScript routines to allow some normal kinds of printing, Zeta plot
conversion, and other PostScript spooling to the LaserWriter.
