An addition to a recent article of mine:

Before anybody has to tell me -- it occurs to me (was mentioned
elsewhere on the net) that unmarried mothers are (supposedly)
entitled to child support, if they file (and win) a paternity
suit.  However, I would guess that child support awarded this
way is just as unlikely (if not more unlikely) to be paid as
child support awarded to a divorced mother.
