I've been enjoying reruns of "Lassie" on the local PBS station on
Sunday mornings, but have come to realize that the plots are
pretty bizarre. Like -

Timmie falls into the Grand Canyon after being humiliated by Lassie
on the mule train and has to be rescued by a blind man.
