Explain that you've used the card in five hotels this week and think that you are over authorized. You will probably get the next authorization approved. Some notes... There is NO mention of a credit limit in the AMEX cardmember agreement. Further, AMEX sells their card as better than VISA or MC because they do not impose a "fixed" credit limit. It is determined by your history and needs.
