Message-ID: <240@weitek.UUCP> Date: Thu, 1-Aug-85 16:45:46 EDT Article-I.D.: weitek.240 Posted: Thu Aug 1 16:45:46 1985 Date-Received: Sat, 3-Aug-85 08:42:31 EDT Organization: Weitek Corp. Sunnyvale Ca. Lines: 12 Keywords: avacado My mom tried unsuccessfully to grow avocados from seed for many years until she learned the trick from a women's magazine. Take a razor blade and cut about an eighth of an inch off the top and bottom ends of the pit. If you don't do this, it will take much longer for the root and shoot to come out. By the time they do, the pit will usually be rotting. Other than this trick, the technique of suspending the seed on a glass of water with toothpicks works. Mark Thorson ( ...!cae780!weitek!mmm)
