There's no discrimination unless it's toward men...
If a husband gets the insurance, they consider his wife.  If the wife gets
the insurance, they consider her husband.  That's fair...  BUT, if a single
man gets insurance, he is going to pay more than a single woman EVEN if they
have the same driving record.  [There are exceptions:  a 65 year old man
will pay less than a 16 year old girl.]  In general, married couples
insurance is based on the man's rate because it is higher.  Being married
does make it lower though.  [A married man pays less than a single woman
under the same conditions].  AND, get this, if the wife gets a ticket, the
husband's already higher rate is increased.  So don't flame about
discrimination where it doesn't exist.

DISCLAIMER:  There are a million special situations with insurance involving
the number of cars, where they are garaged and who drives them as well as
how far they are driven and what kind of purpose they are driven for as well
as the size of their engines and whether they can be stolen or not or damage
thieves who try ... The preceeding does not take all possibilities into
account.
