A credit card does not, in fact, belong to you. If you read anything about it, it will tell you that it is the property of the bank. Credit and Driving are not rights. Sorry. They are priveleges. The state grants you permission to drive. It can sure as hell take it away. I see no legal problem with confiscating a car and dealing with what to do later. My point is that people who will break laws (such as driving while intoxicated) will do the same again, given the chance. Taking away the *thing* in question stops that.
