If you regulary expect to receive valuable parcels, and you want to avoid having them left by your front door or want to avoid having to go somewhere-not-nearby at an inconvenient hour to pick 'em up, consider a private post office. There are several here in Ft. Collins, CO and I know they exist elsewhere. I have a P.O. Box (they have to call 'em "suites") at one. For a higher rental fee than USPS charges, I get the following extra services: * They accept delivery from ALL parcel services as well as U.S. mail. * They have longer hours - and I can get into my box even when they're closed because I have a key ($10.00 deposit). * They are a forwarder for UPS, Federal and Burlington. This is very convenient for mailing parcels around Xmas time, because UPS has lousy hours and long lines. The only disadvantage (apart from price): * They will only accept COD deliveries for up to about $20.00; however, If I leave the money with them, they will accept COD in any value.
