Thus, if you write a shell script Empire "country name" password >/dev/null <<_empire_ map #1 >map census #1 >census commodity #1 >commodity quit _empire_ and run it in the background, you'll get this message if you try to log in while the script is running. Unfortunately, it can also happen that you get tossed out of Empire without doing a quit or ^D (e.g., your terminal hangs up). When this happens, you should wait (sometimes as long as an hour), and eventually Empire will realize that you're not playing.
