I was reviewing an old (June 78) issue of Organic Gardening and came 
across a reference to the use of a bicycle to power various garden
and other devices, plows, lathes, grain grinders. For some time I
have considered the idea of using pedal power to power a pump thus
getting water out of our adjacent lake and into my garden. Does
anyone out there have nay information on how I may get plans or a kit
to adapt a bicycle to this purpose. How about sources of pumps?
It seems like such a system would allow me or other members of my
family to get some exercise at the same time they are performing
useful chores.
