I lived in Colts Neck for 10 years about 12 years ago and
I fertilized the trees.  I drove an iron rod about two feet long
and about an inch in diameter, pulled it out and filled the
hole with 10-6-4.  I did this in a circle that corresponded
the the furtherest that the limbs reached out.  It definitely
made a difference.
