Lines: 23 Keywords: scanner Re: Is there any inexpensive scanner which covers the 900 Mhz band. Yes, the Regency MX7000 covers 25-550 MHz and 800-1200 Mhz. It lists for around $400-$500. I have played with the MX5000, which I guess is the same scanner without the 800-1200 Mhz (looks the same and they have a common maintenance manual). I noticed two annoyances: The scan rate is slow (~5 channels per second), and you have to access individual channels by keying in the number on the front panel - there is no single button channel select. It has 20 channels. By the way, the best place to find scanner ads at discount prices seems to be "Popular Communications." However, I suggest you ignore the articles unless you are prepared to sacrifice your technical knowledge and common sense.
