Snapshot Photographers". You can usually recognize them at various social gatherings, like baseball games, circuses, fairs, etc, for they are the ones with the Kodak Instamatic cameras sitting in the bleachers shooting pictures of the action on the field (usually at least a couple of hundred feet away). I guess nobody ever explained to them that the flash bulb(or cube) they're using usually has a range of only 8-15 feet, and the only picture they'll get is of people's backs sitting in front of them!!!!! Now for the true story: Back when I was taking photography in high school, we had reasonably good equiptment to use, including good cameras and flash units. The flash units were the high-powered Honeywell units (that weighed a couple of pounds). These units had an incredible range: 80-100 feet. Well, anyways, I had one of the Honeywells and was using it to take color pictures inside the rides at Disneyland. In "The Pirates of the Caribbean", right after the big battle scene where the two ships of firing at each, other, and the boat makes a U-turn, there's a scene where a guy is getting dunked in a well. The boat had 5 seats in it, and I was sitting in the third seat. Some lady sitting in the front seat turned around just as I was taking the picture, and looked right at the flash!!! She said something like "You blinded me!!!", which was probably true for a couple of minutes!!! Well, at least I thought it was funny!! The funny thing is though, that I never once got caught taking flash pictures inside the rides. I did it in the "Haunted Mansion", and "It's A Small World", and never even got hassled. Of course, I always hid the flash when going into/coming out of the rides!!! You think I'd sign my name to this?????
