I was told that with an instematic, if you put the flash on, it opens the aperture (sp?) a little. Therefore, although the light from the flash might not reach the subject, the aperature is still opened and you have a better chance of getting a picture. I always used to put in a used flash so that I wouldn't waste one. Anyway, here's the joke: Two Scottish lassies were strolling along the hills one day when they happened upon a Scottish sheepherd propped up against a boulder, sound asleep. Lassie #1: You know, I've always wondered what a Scottsman wears under his kilt. Lassie #2: Shall we look? Lassie #1: Yes, lets. They gently lift up the Scottsman's kilt (being careful not to wake him) and lo and behold, he isn't wearing a stich under his kilt! Well, the girls decide to leave him a little present. Lassie #1 took a little blue bow out of her hair and tied it around the Scottsman's "pride and joy". A little while later, the Scottsman wakes up and discovers he needs to "answer Mother Nature's call". He walks over to a tree and opens his kilt. Lo and behold, there's the present that the girls left him. Scottsman: (Speaking to his "pride and joy") I don't know where you were while I was asleep, but you sure won the first prize! -- Sarah E.
