A hiker was out in the woods one day when he came upon a clearing with an 
old-fashioned outhouse standing in it.  Deciding that it was a good time 
as any to go to the bathroom, he went inside dropped his trousers, and sat
down.  Shortly after he got settled another man came in, pulled down his
pants, and sat down two holes down from the hiker.  As the second man pulled
down his pants, however, a nickel fell out of one of the pockets and rolled
down the middle hole.  When the second man finished going to the bathroom he
pulled up his pants, reached into his pocket, and threw a handful of change
into the middle hole.  The hiker gave the other man a funny look and said,
"Why in the world did you do something as stupid as that?"  The second man 
looked at the hiker and said, "Well, you don't expect me to go down there
for just a nickel, do you?"
