On some awards ceremony (no I never watch them - it was just on - honest) something caught my eye about the large volume of flashes coming from the audience. To begin with, most of the audience were 'stars' (not the sort to come with an instamatic). Most of the flashes seemed to come from the edge of the audience - in actuality the back wall. Some bright 'PR' type of person had evidently gotten strobe lights with a semi-random pattern of firings so that all of us little people at home would feel the excitement of the moment.
