Now before you start screaming `COPYRIGHT' and `Yo-ho-ho' I'll mention that my copy of `Ball Blazer' (which I bought) failed to boot last night and now I have to go through the hassle of getting it replaced from Epyx. If they're prompt it may only take a week or so, if they're like most companies I expect it to take 3 to 4 weeks. Apart from the fact I don't know if I can live without `Ball Blazer' for a month why should I have too? I have never felt easy not having back-ups for my copy-protected programs and have decided to look into the ways available. I don't really care if the system simply duplicates the disk or compresses it into a binary load file, what I'm looking for is reliability and the capability to handle most copy-protection schemes. If anyone has any info on the different systems available, like the Happy drive or The Chip, I'd be interested in hearing from you. --- Kevin Thompson {ucbvax,ihnp4!nsc}!voder!kevin "It's sort of a threat, you see. I've never been very good at them myself but I'm told they can be very effective."
