I am thinking about buying an Atari 800XT (with disk drive) and would
like to be able to use my Commodore 1525 Printer and my VICModem with them to
save money.  Does anyone know if this is possible/advisable/done_already?
How hard a conversion would it be (I don't know much about electronics
except for the basics of soldering and putting chips in sockets :-))?  
If difficult, would I be likely to find a shop that could do these conversions 
for me at a reasonable price?  

In case it isn't possible, can anyone recommend a good modem (not too
expensive; I have the bottom-of-the-line VICModem and find it acceptible)
and terminal program?
