With respect to the discussion about the change from stty(2) to ioctl(2),
yes, stty is no longer included in official System V Release 2 documentation,
but it is still there in the kernal (it calls ioctl). I ran into it
while modifying some code, didn't find it in 5.2, 5.0, or 3.0 manual,
then asked someone who had 4.2bsd background who recognized it and
then tracked it down in the kernal.
