As for people with $200 Compuserve bills, yes, if you get on every day
to read every piece of fluff posted in the User's forum, you might well
spend $200 synthesizing an electronic social life.  (This is not a swipe
at people who do this - they can spend their money as they see fit to
do damn well what they want to.)  However, with the division of MAUG into
the User's Forum and a Developer's Forum, a weekly visit for an hour
is more than sufficient (at 1200 baud).  I logon less frequently and
certainly don't read things online.  I either scan the headers and
ignore them (mostly), or download the stuff and throw it away offline.
It isn't clear which is faster.  Downloading all the suppliment would,
of course, be more than pricy, but you don't need to do that.

So, regardless of whether or not it is on Delphi, MAUG is valuable and
not that expensive to track.  My Compuserve bill runs about $25/month
if I have been tracking things closely.  Obviously less if not.
