The following information came from GEM Desktop
Reference Guide.
The GEM Desktop comes with two accessories, clock
and calculator. In section 7 of the Reference Guide,
it said the following:

Your computer must have at least 320 kilobytes of 
randomaccess memory (320K RAM) to use the desk accessories.
If it has less memory, the desk accessory do not
appear in the Desk Menu, and you cannot use them.
