Wasn't it H.L. Mencken who defined a Puritan as "someone who lives in
dread fear that someone, somewhere, is having a good time"?  In every
political movement (alas, even in the libertarian movement) there seems
to be some ill-humored types who insist that the whole world needs to
spend every day hard at work solving problems; these same twerps view
every form of recreation as a crime against humanity.
