I hope it's not too late - we just got back on the net after a prolonged dry spell. **The Newport Folk Festival - August 3 & 4 - Newport, Rhode Island** I don't have all details here, but will by the time anyone who needs immediate information wants to call me at (401) 847-8000 ext. 4059. Here's the basics: Saturday, August 3 - Joan Baez and a lot of other famous people that I can't remember right now. Sunday, August 4 - Judy Collins, Arlo Guthrie, Dave Von Ronk, David Mallet, Bonnie Raitt, and a lot of famous people that I don't remember. (Based on the above information recall, guess which day I was most excited about?) This festival takes place at Fort Adams State Park in Scenic Newport, Rhode Island. It's right on the water (in fact, you can get there by boat if you don't want to drive around) and you can swim right off the rocks when it gets too hot (sometimes the security guards try to discourage it, but it doesn't work). There is no camping and precious few accommodations in Newport, to my knowledge, since we're the yachting capitol (gag) of the east coast and there are too many 'beautiful people' around to make room for folkies. So I'll offer my couches and floors to anyone who will agree to feed my cat for the duration. I'll be back at my desk on Tuesday, July 30, so call if you want more info. -- --Heather Emanuel {allegra, decvax!brunix, linus, ccice5} rayssd!hxe -------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't think my company *has* an opinion, so the ones in this article are obviously my own. -------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ain't life a brook...
