One story that I haven't seen mentioned is:
  Cherryh's "Crystal Singer" (it *was* Cherryh, wasn't it?)

That particular story struck a...a...(no, I will not make an
obvious pun here!!)...anyway, I really liked it.  Anyone have
any comments about it?
