I haven't seen Thunderdome, but the full moon is certainly from Dune, where Paul looks up at the moon, inexplicably, until he asks the Fremen what the mouse-shape is called -- "Muad Dib". (I said "'Mouse shape'? Mouse shape?! What mouse shape?!?" I guess we were seeing all those moon shots so we could remember the shape of the "man-in-the-moon" sort of visual feature.
