We fail to find a line dividing "SO" and "friend" because of the diversity of our relationships -- I don't see the need for finding this non-existing distiction, anyway... To some earlier posting where the authors spoke of "the psychological definition of SO": Save that baloney for the deli! It seems once you start defining terms, all that's left to do is argue.
