I'm as much a fan of hugs as anyone.  There is a great little book out
called _The Hug Therapy Book_.  One of the things covered is the 
etiquette of hugs:  it is appropriate to *ask* before hugging someone.
Lets be sensitive to those who are not as comfortable with the idea.
