I have an opposing viewpoint: when I get a very firm, "macho" handshake, I find myself wondering what kind of power trip this guy (I don't recall getting such a shake from a woman) is on. That's a bit of an exaggeration, but otherwise true. I had a manager once who made a big deal out of shaking hands every time we saw each other. This annoyed me (amateur psychologists take note!), so after awhile, rather than firmly grasping his hand with mine, I would make my entire arm limp. He really got upset with me (chuckle)! -- - joel "vo" plutchak {allegra,ihnp4,seismo}!uwvax!uwmacc!oyster "Take what I say in a different way and it's easy to say that this is all confusion."
