Yes, but that's the impression I get so often from those who claim to be
in charge of their own everything (from the way they sound).  A for
instance:  what about someone who was brought up in a violent home who
now reacts to marital disagreement through violence, as learned in
childhood?  Does that person react through "choice"?  Remember, it's
not a black or white situation where "if you don't take 'responsibility'
for your emotions, it means you're 'giving' responsibility to someone
else".  In the case above, the "responsibility" lies with the circumstances
of one's life, out of one's personal control, not with particular people
who probably were in the same boat.
