The fact that one person is provoking a lot of discussion is not a new occurrence in this group. The fact that some people agree with him and some disagree is not a new occurrence in this group. Even the fact that one person is finding the time to write a lot of articles is not a new occurrence in this group. I think, as Chris mentions in a followup article, that this should have been taken up via e-mail. > >Am I out of line? Am I being unreasonable in asking someone to not respond to >every other article that gets posted? If we don't use a little discretion, >they'll start moderating this newsgroup and no one will be able to post >anything freely. Yes, yes, and "they" have already tried. If it really bothers you, and you are using rn, put the line "/chris andersen/hk" in your net.singles KILL file and hey presto! Chris's postings magically disappear. I already do that to some specific authors in some newsgroups for various reasons. If you don't use rn, I guess you'll either have to wear out that 'n' key or unsubscribe to the group. Although I've often wondered HOW Chris can post so many articles, I've never questioned whether he should. Unlike some authors' postings, Chris's postings are rarely inflammatory in nature. (Some of you veterans out there may remember Frank Adrian? The man that made Tektronix famous?) Yeah , I 'n' past them sometimes, but because the topic doesn't interest me, not because Chris wrote them. If you want to send a complaint to 'azure!usenet' you're welcome to, but guess what? It's an alias that comes to someone in our support group.
