     The longest running continual television show in America is MEET THE
PRESS which has been running since 1947 or 38 years. It spent 17 years in
prime time before moving to daytime.
     The longest running night time show is THE TONIGHT SHOW which is in it's
31st season.
     The next  closest is Walt Disney in it's several formats which ran for
a total of 29 years.
     This are of course just American shows, I have no knowledge about the 
length of English show runs.
