When we flew from Orly airport (Paris) to Dallas last week, all passengers
were required to go down to the tarmac to identify their baggage before
it was placed on the plane.  Unidentified baggage was left behind.

All around the passenger areas were signs saying "For your own safety, do 
not accept baggage from any other person."
