There is also Pertwee's repeated use of "Venusian distance" (all of his instruments with the Jo Grant assistant were of those units). However, if I recall correctly, Baker started out very handily with any type of weapon, and used some sort of "street-fighting" technique when it was called for. Later on he kept getting hit over the head, or just gave the impression of the bystander (even when about to be roasted). I think some of the later shows resisted attempts to use Baker's character with weapons and/or violence because Baker did not want to present his younger audience with what he thought might be a bad influence. - jerry.
