Lines: 16 Someone asked for *any* information on running a TE16 and RM05 on the same controller. As I remember, these run off a massbus controller. Back in my 11/70 days, RSX could not support different devices on one controller. The problem was not hardware; the controller could serve 8 devices in any mix. The software could not handle the fact that the controller had only one interrupt vector. I think that later versions of RSX were supposed to fix that. There is also the performance issue. The massbus only handles a block data transfer from one device at a time. However, it also has a separate control bus, so that (for example) you can issue a seek on a disk while a tape is doing a data transfer. P.S. As I am new to the new, would someone please send me mail or post a response so I can tell if I am getting out into the world.
