Its even worse on VHS than Beta. SuperBeta VCRs supposedly make excellent copies - I've heard it said that a 5th generation SuperBeta copy looks better than a first-generation VHS tape. This is due both to the initial advantage in resolution, plus the "edit" switch that disables the video boost circuit that acts as sort of an equalizer. Copying the audio should not be a problem - Beta Hi-Fi audio is inherently better than FM stereo, with less distortion and greater dynamic range. Steve Lionel
