Back about '61, I used to go out to a friend's place. He wasn't Norwegian, but he was Filipino, so maybe that ought to count for something. Well, anyway, Sonny had a stand of sweet corn out behind the house that was reserved for family and friends. His Dad sold sweet corn to all and sundry alongside the road, but that stuff came from farther back in the fields. The corn right behind the house was better, and we all knew it. So Sonny and I would pick a bag from the good patch, and I'd climb on my bike and hightail it back to town, all of about two miles, and I'd shuck that corn and have it in the boiling water inside of fifteen minutes from the time it left the stalk. We had a creamery in our town, and they made some of the best butter anywhere, I still remember the sweet, rich taste of that butter. A little dab of that butter, spread on Sonny's FRESH corn, a little salt and a shot of pepper, and, well, you gotta try it, that's all there is to it. The real problem here is that in '61 I hadn't yet had any sex, good or otherwise, and since then I haven't had any of Sonny's corn. So I can't do a "side by side" comparison, but I'd sure like to, sometime.
