Are we so hung up that we can't accept her image as simply one more facet of life? As for the Live Aid concert, I agree, just being there and performing was a service. In addition, however, she also managed to use her appearance to devastate those who have criticized her for posing nude. After her second song, she said to the audience "Hot enough for you?" The crowd yelled back "Yeah." She said "Out of sympathy, I'm going to keep my jacket on." Naturally, there were calls of "Take it off," etc. To which she replied "I ain't taking off shit today. They might hold it against me ten years from now." Well said, Madonna.
