Texas, Astronomy, Austin, TX Lines: 20 I wholeheartedly agree with a posting cautioning against irritating motorists when you are riding a bike. Some drivers can turn very nasty at the drop of a hat. I've been informed by a passing driver that he'd run me over if I ever blocked a lane temporarily while getting over to the left to make a left turn at a 4-way stop... I held him up for all of 10 seconds on a small road near my campus area! I was riding my bike during this social interaction. Once a driver nearly ran over me when I was on foot, I looked at him funnily (not angrily or rudely), and he got mad, tried to turn around (high acceleration and screaming tyres). I ducked into a building, but if I'd been on a bike I might have ended up in hospital. I'd like to see more postings by Ms. Eades, hence this unasked-for advice.
