I have large hands and was experiencing the same bruised knuckles until I changed to the Pachmayer grips. I know they look ugly but I suggest you *shoot* them once and you might change your opinion. After trying them on my Blackhawk I bought a set for my S&W model 15 and model 34. They really help make those J-frame Smiths more accurate due to better control. Woody
