I'm told that Burr-Brown has a relatively new line of converters with built in sample/holds and deglitch amps. A friend is using them to replace some rather old Analogic's in a system with a design sampling rate of 100KHz. I don't have much concrete info, but I'm told the Burr-Brown's are, among other things, fairly cheap.
