My wife was stopped this morning for going 50 in a 45 zone, by a cop parked facing the same way, with the radar mounted on the dashboard, pointing toward oncoming traffic. The detector never went off. The officer showed her the "reading" on the radar, stopped her in the MIDDLE of the road for 15 minutes even after she requested that they move to a safer spot, attempted to cite her for having expired insurance (it BEGAN in June 85, exppires in June 86), etc. The radar detector is just one useful device to help show that she was set-up by a beginner, who was desperate to the point of dishonesty. Today I buy my second detector, for my own car!
