Yesterday morning I picked up my parents at the airport when they arrived on the first Concorde flight into Columbus, Ohio (CMH). They had made the London to New York crossing in the usual 3:25 at 55-60 K feet (Mach 2), while having croissants (sp?) and champagne for breakfast. They arrived in New York 1.5 hours "before" they left London (with time zones). Yesterday evening I went to the Reds-Padres game in Cincinnati (where Pete Rose was expected to make Hit Number 4192 - but that's another story), and watched the Goodyear Blimp circling gracefully (but fatly) above the stadium, helping a SRO crowd to some nice color graphics (but that's another story too).
