I hereby nominate for macsot the only truely worthy contestant: "The Line Eater!" These omnivorous monopods frequent various swamps and mailers and can grow to 80 characters in length. Very hard to actually see, they are usually only detected by there excretments. While not quite as tasty as slugs, they are certainly mopre resiliant, and are even more shy than the lowly but much-ballyhood wombat (Actually, in most states, it's illegal to ballyhoo, even with a consenting adult wombat).
