Sigh.  After reading seemingly hundreds of not so bizarre place names, 
and swearing not to do it i posted one, then just read another which 
reminded me of one of my favorite place names on earth.  

Banalia, Haut Zaire, Zaire (approx 1.5 degrees north, 25 degrees east,
just north of Kisangani).

Such a dull (YAWN) place.  

Ironically, Banalia was the scene of a major massacre during the Simba
rebellion in Zaire (then the Republic of the Congo), so wasnt at all
banal, at least then.  

I promise i wont do it again -- at least not till the next time.
