Lines: 32 Ah, the comic strips of my youth.... For one reason or another, I haven't been reading these comics (Steve Canyon and Dick Tracy, in case you missed the title) regularly since I left for college in 1973. Now I try to catch up when I can. (mostly back issues of the Appeal Democrat at my Grandparent's house. Yes, *that* Yuba City.) For any regular readers out there, I have some questions: First, Dick Tracy: Is someone else doing the artwork and story? Have I missed something? Gone are the magnetic air cars, the moon colony, the giant Escargot, lunar gold mine, etc. What happened? I see Junior still has his crossbreed lunar daughter, but what happened to his lunar wife? When did he remarry? Second, Steve Canyon: I've never really understood what was going on in that strip. I understand Steve has the rank of Colonel in, I believe the USAF, but he appears to be an agent of some kind. Whom does he work for? In his private life, I understand that Summer is his wife, but of what relation is Poteet? (Name might be misspelled.) I remember years ago that Summer had disappeared and a thought balloon had Poteet thinking 'please let me be your summer replacement'. (Pun intended, I'm sure.) This sorta preempts the idea of Poteet being a blood relation, in spite of her last name. Anyone know the real story? -- -- Ron Christian (Watkins-Johnson Co.
