We recently had a major cataclysm in our house, when my 12 year old
daughter, getting ready to start school, dried a load of her best
clothes in a dryer in which someone had inadvertently left a black
BIC Biro ballpoint pen.  

The results were disastrous -- all of her clothes are splotched with
round black stains.  Does anyone on the net know of a product on the
market that will remove such stains?  I have heard from various people
that hair spray is supposed to do the trick, but is there a special
type of hair spray?  Any particular brand?  How do you apply it?  Do
you let the clothes sit for a while, or do you put them in the machine
immediately after spraying?  Is this the best treatment for black
ink, or is there a better remedy (e.g., dry cleaning?).

Any hints or solutions would be much appreciated by me, and by a
very depressed 12 year old.  Thank you!   R. Marks
