Yes.

Not as far as detection goes.  I believe the Passport is better because
it is smaller, it has LEDs for the strength meter which are instantaneous
and easier to read, it has a mute switch you can hit to temporarily
shut the beeping off for the current episode, and it comes with more
mounts and power cables.

Yes.
