Since the UDS9600s are half duplex synchronous modems, we had to use the companion ECUs (error control units) between our asynch ports and the modems. The link worked well, most of the time, except that the ECUs would have an apparent protocol lockup every day or two. Redialing the link would cure (temporarily) this problem. Phil
